After his majestic opening, the author of Hebrews goes on in chapter 1 to cite seven Old Testament passages to draw four points of contrast between Jesus and the angels:
his name is greater (v 5)
his dignity is greater (v 6)
his nature is greater (vv 7–12)
his position is greater (vv 13–14)
