Above the Angels (Heb 1:4–14)

A Study of Hebrews: Lesson 2

After his majestic opening, the author of Hebrews goes on in chapter 1 to cite seven Old Testament passages to draw four points of contrast between Jesus and the angels:

  1. his name is greater (v 5)

  2. his dignity is greater (v 6)

  3. his nature is greater (vv 7–12)

  4. his position is greater (vv 13–14)
