The Soul Felt Its Worth (Heb 2:10)

A Study of Hebrews: Lesson 5

It could be argued that Hebrews 2:10 is the single most important verse in the book. It’s certainly true that it communicates many significant aspects of the gospel.

  1. PLANNER: God designed a plan to save us before creation.

  2. PURPOSE: God’s purpose for this plan was to lead us to glory (i.e., his presence).

  3. PIONEER: As our champion-pioneer, Jesus has conquered death and the devil and leads us into God’s presence.

  4. PERFECT: By his violent death, Jesus was consecrated and qualified to be our high priest.

  5. PROPER: It was consistent with God’s character to make his Son suffer for our sake.
