This is another of Hebrews’ warning passages and perhaps the harshest in the book. At issue in this passage is how we continue to draw near and hold fast as we have been commanded in vv 22–23. The answer is that we must AVOID God’s judgment and ACKNOWLEDGE God’s faithfulness. Only then can we be those who step up in faith vs. fall back in fear.
